Bunkering activities in Turkey had been very limited and uncompetitive until 1986, the year BAYTUR was established. Baytur is the first private physical bunkering company established in Iskenderun Bay area, where Ceyhan pipeline connects with shore storage and pumping facilities. The dynamism and potential of the bunkering activities later caused Baytur to expand its services to Istanbul, where it has a storage tanker and its main office. In Istanbul Baytur has a floating storage tanker of 25.000 dwt, 9 bunker delivery barges from 20 to 1200 tones. Performing a world class service at Turkish ports, establishing a good communicational network and employing a professional team were some achievements for Baytur who is backed by Çukurova Holding, one of the largest groups of Türkiye.The Group ranks as a leader in banking, financial services, steel and commercial vehicle manufacturing, construction, tourism, oil/trade and telecommunication. Baytur, has been supplying bunker fuels to all international vessels transiting the Bosphorus and calling at Turkish ports. Baytur, who first come to scene before any major and the state, controls all key functions including physical storage of the product, barge management, delivery operators, financing and marketing. By establishing the right credit limits for selective customers, Baytur still has the greatest coverage of all supplies and has the largest shore in the Turkish bunker market.
