Horizon Services Group was formed in 2001 as an independently-owned subsidiary of CSX Corp., the publicly traded U.S. transportation company. HSG represents the culmination of many years of logistics information technology development, first within the historic Sea-Land Service Inc. shipping organization and within CSX Lines following the acquisition of Sea-Land from CSX Corp. in 1999 by Maersk, the ocean shipping subsidiary of Danish conglomerate A.P. Moeller.
