China International Marine Containers (Group) Ltd. (CIMC) is one of the first container manufacturers and sino-foreign joint ventures in China. CIMC was founded by China Merchants Holdings and the East Asiatic Company Ltd.(EAC) in Jan.1980. CIMC went into production on 22nd Sep., 1982. In 1987 CIMC became a tri-party joint venture after COSCO joined in. CIMC went public in 1993 and has been listed in Shenzhen Stock Exchange market since 1994. The operation of CIMC started to run as Group structure in 1995. As CIMC fixes the mission to be a major supplier of modern transport equipment in the global market, now CIMC is dedicated to manufacturing and supplying of container, trailer and airport equipment. With the net assets of over 2.8 billion, CIMC has more than 30 subsidiaries around China and all over the world and has over 14,000 employees. The core business of CIMC is container manufacturing. It has 12 production bases lay out in South, East and North of China. The product ranges from dry van, reefer, tank and various special containers. CIMC is a container-manufacturing group with the biggest scale and most abundant product variety in the world. The customers of CIMC include world leading shipping companies and leasing companies. The products of CIMC are serving for the logistics industry all around the North America, Europe and Asia. Since 1996, CIMC has ranked the world No.1 container manufacturer by the largest annual container output and sales volume in the world. Nowadays with over 40% market share in the international container business, and over 50% market share in reefer container market, CIMC has become a world leader in container industry. Trailer Project is the key business CIMC is developing. The goal is to supply the top-ranking ground transportation equipment for the global market and accelerate the modernization of the ground transportation equipment in China. CIMC has developed many kinds of trailer model and established production base with advanced technology and equipment. The product has been put into market. The Airport Equipment business of CIMC majors in passenger boarding bridge, automatic air cargo and logistic management system and automatic solid garage. And local market share of passenger boarding bridge is over 80% and entered international market successfully, such as US, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Mongolia and others.
