2006 is the 30th anniversary of the first Lloyd’s maritime training programme and this website will provide you with information on the range of programmes and services now offered by Lloyd’s Maritime Academy. Distance Learning courses covering thirteen subjects are offered in partnership with academic and professional bodies and provide those in full time employment with a means of professional development that is internationally recognized throughout their lifelong careers.

From the first course held in 1976 to fifty seminars planned for 2006 covering diverse topics in law, insurance, finance, operations and technical management plus the acclaimed "Background to Shipping" course, Lloyd’s Maritime Academy seminars have become a familiar feature in the training calendar for many businesses. New for 2006 are the Masterclass series of workshops for those wishing to develop their knowledge and skills on a particular subject to advanced practitioner status. Where public programmes cannot fit the need, Corporate Training solutions have been designed to provide businesses with a tailored programme to meet company specific training requirements, aligned with enterprise goals and offered within the same rigorous quality framework as our public courses - whether arranging on-site training for small numbers of learners or global workforce development for a 16,000 employee organisation.
