About

IALA is a non-governmental, non-profit organization devoted to the harmonization of marine aids to navigation.

The aim of IALA is to foster the safe, economic and efficient movement of vessels, through improvement and harmonisation of aids to navigation worldwide, and other appropriate means, for the benefit of the maritime community and the protection of the environment. The aim of IALA is achieved by, among other things: developing international cooperation; collecting and circulating information about activities of members; formulating and publishing appropriate recommendations and guidelines; establishing Committees or Working Groups to study special problems; oranising Conferences and Seminars relevant to the work of IALA and IALA members.
