Tromsø University College has about 3000 students and a staff of 350. It comprises four Faculties and a Central Administration, and is situated in four different locations on the island of Tromsø. The four Faculties are: · Faculty of Health Sciences · Faculty of Engineering and Economics · Faculty of Art, Music Conservatory · Faculty of Education

The college offers a broad range of academic programs at both basic and advanced levels. Each faculty has its own distinctive features. The Faculty of Health Sciences has a multi-disciplinary program in the health sciences in close co-operation with the University of Tromsø’s programs for education in the health professions. Several of the programs in health sciences are not available anywhere else in North Norway. The Faculty of Engineering and Economics provides bachelor degrees in different fields of engeneering. The new study, Process and Gas Technology, is especially popular. The Faculty of Art, Music Conservatory is the only institution of higher education in North Norway that offers programs in the arts, and the only conservatory of music. The Faculty of Education is the oldest state college of education in Norway, and the region’s largest teacher-training institution. It offers a wide range of disciplines, and has a long tradition of providing decentralised education both for elementary and lower-secondary school teachers and for pre-school teachers.
