About

The mission of the Trade Council of Iceland is to work with Icelandic export companies to strenghten their international marketing.

The Trade Council of Iceland was established in 1986. The Trade Council has an executive board comprised of seven members appointed by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, five of the board members are nominated from the private sector. The Trade Council, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the National Power Company, hosts the General division of the Invest in Iceland Agency, an organization specifically designed to provide free advice and confidential service to outside investors. The Trade Council of Iceland hosts the Euro Info Centre, an information network set up by an EU initiative to encourage economic growth and business competitiveness in member states.
