Founded in 1998 by Barber International, IMTC designs, develops and delivers training courses as per the training needs identified by its customers in the maritime industry. The course offered cover a variety of technical and non-technical subjects and cater to maritime professionals afloat and ashore. The training centre also provides mentoring services to deck & engine training officers. IMTC has academic collaborations with some of the best institutions & maritime entities.

The INTERNATIONAL MARITIME TRAINING CENTRE was established in 1998, with the objective of enhancing seafarer competence and filling gaps not addressed by conventional statutory training. IMTC is a state-of-the-art maritime training center equipped with sophisticated Simulators and training aids, and conducts over 30 courses, in the area of Management, Nautical/Cargo Studies, Engineering, STCW and Information Technology. Training is imparted in Classroom, Laboratory and Simulator environment. Equipment includes: v Norcontrol full mission Polaris Ship Handling Simulator v Nabco full mission Engine Maneuvering System with Bridge control Simulator v Norcontrol PC based Propulsion Plant Simulator v Electrical, Electronic, Automation, Hydraulics laboratories and fully equipped Paintshop. IMTC also conducts a program in Shipping Management, designed for senior and middle management shipping executives, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. IMTC holds accreditation by DNV as “Maritime Training Centre”.
