It is primarily directed at: - Charterers, who are engaged in the transportation of cargoes in tramp (i.e. non-liner) ships; this includes wet and dry cargoes, both in deep sea and short sea trades. - Shipowners and operators seeking to charter ships on voyage, time-charter or contract of affreightment. Shipbrokers are invited and encouraged to use our site, both as agents of charterers or shipowners/operators, and as independent players, thus adding to and benefiting from the site’s liquidity. Shipping-Direct.com operates both as an exchange and as an ASP (Application Service Provider), providing an effective management tool to streamline existing processes and enable better, faster and cheaper solutions for chartering. A companion site directed at sale and purchase transactions is under development.
