Albert Saphir, consultant, provides you with over 22 years of experience in international air and ocean freight forwarding, domestic and international transportation management, parcel shipping, benchmarking, logistics and supply chain analysis, sales and marketing and customs compliance. Before becoming a logistics consultant, Albert held the position of Vice President Exports for a mid-sized freight forwarding company, responsible for all aspects of export management, contract and vendor negotiations for all modes of transport and sales and business development. Albert began his career in Germany with highly respected Danzas AEI, going through its intensive and comprehensive training program. After working in various departments and cities for Danzas AEI and working in the UK, he then held sales management positions in Germany and South Florida for Panalpina and GeoLogistics (formerly LEP Profit International), always contributing outstanding results. He was also a partner in a South Florida-based forwarder responsible for all sales, new business and agent development, day-to-day export NVOCC operations, project forwarding and vendor contract (purchased transportation) negotiations for all modes. Throughout his career, his clients have included a wide variety of trading companies, manufactures and distributors, ranging from high-volume Fortune 100 companies to family-owned businesses. Extensive international travel to Europe and Latin America has provided Albert with additional insight to different business cultures, thus being able to draw on this for the benefit of the U.S.-based customer. In addition, Albert has provided detailed export training seminars, emphasizing the importance of value-based thinking. Albert is highly experienced in transportation negotiations and procurement, freight and audit/billing management for all modes of domestic or international transport, import and export regulations, customs compliance and review including NAFTA, foreign Customs requirements, supply chain evaluation and benchmarking and ISO 9000-2000. In the past, he was an active participant in various trade and industry organizations, including CNS-IATA and the National Industrial Transportation League. Albert is an active member of the Atlanta Air Cargo Association, Atlanta Maritime Association and the Council of Logistics Management Atlanta Roundtable. He holds the German equivalent of a BS in International Transportation, is fluent in German with basic knowledge of French and Spanish. In 2000 he also obtained his U.S. Customs Broker License.
