Baltimore Metal & Commodities Terminal is an operating extension of C.Steinweg (Baltimore) Inc. and is focussed on handling metals, lumber, steel, soft commodities and project cargoes shipped as breakbulk. The terminal is located adjacent to Fort McHenry, encompasses almost 14 acres (5.67ha) of secured, U.S. Customs Bonded pier, of which slightly over 8 acres (3.24ha) is fast land. The water depth varies from a minimum of 34 ft to a maximum of 38 ft (11.58m). There is a modern pier providing approximately 1,400 ft (426 m) of dock space. Pier 1 is 970 ft (296m) in lenght and 40 ft (12m) in width. The east bulkhead is 330 ft (100m) in lenght. There are two gantry shore cranes available of each 34.5 metric ton capacity. BMCT/STEINWEG offers at this location 240,000 sq.ft. (23.000 sqm) of U.S. Customs Bonded warehouse space, under Foreigh Trade Zone #74, as well as warehouse space at Highland Avenue of 100,000 sq.ft. (10,000 sqm). All of these warehouses are London Metal Exchange approved.
