About

The SeaBotix LBV is the most capable, compact ROV inspection tool available. Ideally suited to single person deployment for any underwater inspection.

The SeaBotix Little Benthic Vehicle “LBV” is a full- function low-cost compact ROV. Unlike other small ROVs the LBV maintains all the standard features found in larger ROVs only in a more compact package. There are four (4) primary LBV systems based on their depth rating, 150, 300, 600 and 1,500 meters. When designing the LBV it was very important that LBV be a useful tool. It had to have powerful thrusters, low drag umbilical, extensive features simplifying operation, intuitive controls, rugged design and be sold for an affordable price. The result is exactly that. Where others have less power and more drag LBV is unique with its very small umbilical (7.6mm) and very powerful thrusters (3.25kgf each). In addition to the design of LBV SeaBotix exceeds basic ROV manufacturing with its competent custom applications engineering staff. Carefully reviewing the client’s needs the engineering staff can develop a compact ROV system for most any application. Such systems include WCROV “fly out” systems, submarine torpedo tube launched systems, deep deployments, long cable lengths, custom sensors and more. With more than 200 systems worldwide the LBV system is widely accepted. LBV150 Series At the core of the SeaBotix range are the 150 meter depth series of LBV ROV systems. The long list of standard features include: four (4) powerful thrusters providing movement in all axis, smallest diameter umbilical, high resolution color camera, 270 degree field of vision, auto functions, video overlay and much more. System control is via the intuitive hand controller offering even new users quick learning. All controls are at the user’s fingertips including depth control, horizontal control, auto function control, light intensity, camera tilt, focus, user options and user programming. Mounted on a coiled cable the hand controller can sit in the integrated console with monitor or remove for various user positions. A wireless version is also available. The 150 series offer highly portable, single person deployment and minimal power requirements. Ideally suited to shallow water operations (less than 150 meters). The LBV is an excellent choice for such operations as port/maritime security, aquaculture, scientific research, police departments, customs, coast guard and more. Two small transit cases hold the system and can be carried on commercial airlines. LBV300 Series Adding to the depth capability of 150 meter series are the 300 meter depth rated systems. Standard with fiber optic electronics for video and data the 300 meter systems offer exceptional video quality and multiple RS232 channels. Cable lengths vary from 350 meters to 750 meters. A six (6) thruster version is available for strong currents or long cable lengths. Still compact the 300 meter systems can be operated by a single person (two is recommended). Deeper Systems SeaBotix also offers deeper systems such as the 600 meter and the 1,500 meter solutions. Each is equipped with a full launch and recovery system, tether management system and deployment cable. Where deeper inspections are required the LBV is a quick and cost effective solution. Options Building on the basic packages are a wide variety of available options designed to suit each individual client’s requirements. Such options include: USBL tracking system, scanning sonar, grabber, cutting tool, UT thickness gauge, additional lighting, laser scaling, LED lighting, zoom camera and more powerful thrusters.
