Aim: Creating a forum for maritime training centres offering invaluable networking opportunities and the chance to open a corresponding envoironment. Objectives: To plan and co-ordinate: * harmonisation of the basic maritime education programmes in order to rise transparency in maritime certification and education * upgrading of maritime education amongst its members * new ideas, methods, topics and support in maritime training in order to cope with the evolution in maritime transport * promotion of the maritime training and the maritime profession Activities: * establishment of a database for assessment in maritime training * edition of bi-annual journal "The Academic" to inform about the news of the organisation, its members, articles about and for maritime education and maritime history * seminars and the annual conference * establishment of regional centres to deal with regional topics * co-operation with international maritime organisations and associations * train the trainer courses using experts in maritime topics ensuring the upgrading and assistance of trainers in maritime education * project development and assistance 2nd international maritime educational conference on September 7-9 2003 at Constanza -Romania : "Crewing & Training" - a trendsetting conference where you can speak and discuss topics such as security, safety, management and crewing techniques.
