About

MACTEC, Inc and its subsidiaries Harding ESE and Pacific Environmental Services, are full service environmental consulting and engineering companies drawing on the resources of a nationwide network of offices.

In 1975, MACTEC Inc. was founded in San Diego as Management Analysis Company (MAC) to provide engineering and management services to the nuclear utility industry. Because of our specialized expertise, we quickly grew as a company and also became one of the premier Department of Energy (DOE) contractors. In June of 1999 we broadened our client base with the acquisition of Environmental Science & Engineering, Inc. (founded in 1967). A year later, Harding Lawson Associates (founded in 1957) became a part of the family of companies. On October 27, 2000, these two entities merged to become Harding ESE, Inc. Harding ESE is a wholly owned subsidiary of MACTEC and is a full-service engineering, planning, and construction company with a vast array of technical services. Harding ESE functions as the Consulting Engineering and Sciences Division of MACTEC, Inc., providing services to federal, state/local and private clients. Harding ESE focuses on infrastructure development, providing integrated services for the planning, permitting, design, development, construction management, operation & maintenance, management, demolition, remediation, and re-development of our country's infrastructure. The Harding ESE offices have a continuous history more than 125 years of quality engineering services, via acquisition of the E.C. Jordan Company founded in Maine in 1873 and represented today by our Portland, Maine office. Another wholly owned subsidiary of MACTEC is Pacific Environmental Services, Inc. (founded in 1971). PES was acquired in May of 2000 and brought expertise in value engineering, occupational safety and health, water/wastewater management, and pollution prevention with a long history of service primarily to federal clients. With a focus on federal program management and outsourcing of federal facility management, PES management now takes the lead in MACTEC's Government Program Management Division. This division includes both PES and MACTEC operations providing government support services and infrastructure management at federal facilities for DOE, DOD, EPA and other agencies throughout the country. MACTEC's Construction Management Division, now known as MACTEC Constructors, was formed from the Construction Management units of MACTEC and Harding Lawson Associates in October of 2000. The division focuses on infrastructure re-development, managing system upgrade construction, remedial construction, and complex D&D projects for the nuclear industry and commercial clients. MACTEC Constructors also offers liability transfer services to its clients on selected projects. With revenues over $325 million, the MACTEC family of companies now offers a network of 73 offices and 2,300 employees nationwide. MACTEC provides integrated services in infrastructure development, management and re-development to a wide range of public and private clients.
