About

Within the space of a decade, Star Energy Resources Limited has firmly established itself at the forefront of terminalling operations on the Arabian Peninsula. As the region's leading provider of petroleum storage, our growth has been based on a commitment to developing the range and quality of services available, as well as anticipating and fulfilling clients’ changing needs. Star Energy Resources Limited is a dynamic and energetic organisation which offers the highest of standards. Personnel at every level, from senior management through to terminal operations staff, fulfil the company's pledge of providing an effective quality service. Our terminal at Jebel Ali Free Zone – centred on the world’s largest man made harbour – provides clients with the most extensive and flexible storage facility available in the region. Its strategic location and dedicated deep water berths make it the ideal terminalling hub for breaking-bulk, trans-shipment and redistribution for the Middle East, the Indian sub-continent and East Africa, as well as the consolidation of cargoes bound for destinations further afield. Whilst the United Arab Emirates plays a pivotal role in our business activities, we service a wide portfolio of trading and multinational organisations from around the globe. These clients represent a broad spectrum of the oil industry’s diverse business ideologies, a factor that has further enhanced our commitment to developing the range of services offered at Jebel Ali.

SERL's Jebel Ali terminal is amongst the most advanced in the world. Work on the first phase commenced in 1987 and the initial 318,000 m3 of storage was commissioned in November 1988. In 1991 continued growth led to the construction of an additional 96,000 m3 and a further 106,000 m3 was added in 1998. Presently under construction is an additional 95,000 m3, with completion scheduled early 2001. This will take the total number of storage tanks to 24 and a capacity in excess of 615,000 m3. The state-of-the-art complex has been consistently developed over the years to provide efficient and cost effective services, and to keep pace with the latest developments and techniques, including international regulations on safety and the environment. Systems and software evolution continues to augment our technical services and ensures total quality control throughout each contract. In developing our standards of terminal management and operations, internationally recognised quality control systems have been implemented throughout. SERL was awarded the ISO 9002 Quality Management Systems certificate in June 1996 and is actively pursuing certification to meet ISO 14001, the new environmental management standard.
