Tate & Lyle North America is a division of Tate & Lyle PLC, a global leader in carbohydrate processing. In North America, Tate & Lyle businesses include A.E. Staley Manufacturing Company, a corn wet milling company producing sweeteners, starches, ethanol and animal feeds (see Cereal Sweeteners and Starches); Tate & Lyle Citric Acid, a world leader in citric acid production (see Citric Acid); and Tate & Lyle North American Sugars Ltd., a cane sugar refiner in Canada marketing under the Redpath label (see Sugars). These businesses manufacture consumer products and high quality ingredients in 40 sites across North America, and employ over 5000 people.
