The personnel of Seaspan Ship Management Ltd. have extensive experience in the maritime industries. Their backgrounds range from ship management, newbuild and conversion project development and management, to general marine engineering, crewing and operations management, as well as hands on sea going experience in senior ranks. In addition to the head office personnel in Vancouver, Seaspan Ship Management directly selects and employs quality seamen through our dedicated crew management subsidiary. Our operation employs close relationships between our management staff and sea staff in order to achieve a reliable and consistent service level. Our Vice President has extensive experience in shipbuilding and ship management, project management and major contract development. He has held senior positions in large ship management operations, involving almost all major categories of vessels. Our Fleet Operations Manager has recently joined us from Harris Pye Marine in Southampton where he was Managing Director for the past 2.5 years. He comes to us with a vast amount of shipping knowledge, he sailed as a Chief Engineer before coming ashore as a Fleet Manager Superintendent for Safmarine. All of our Superintendents have extensive ship management experience and hold Chief Engineer tickets with significant sea time and an excellent level of formal training. We have a team available for project development, two of the senior members having been surveyors for a major classification society and also have significant seagoing experience as Chief Engineers.
