Harbor Bunkering Corporation (HBC) started operations as Harbor Fuel Service, Inc. in 1980. Back then, all our bunker sales were done via tank trucks in all ports of Puerto Rico. As sales grew, we kept increasing our fleet of trucks until we realized that the port of San Juan needed a different and more practical mode of transportation for our deliveries. In 1989 we introduced into the port of San Juan one IFO (Intermediate Fuel Oil) barge and one MGO (Marine Gas Oil) barge with an assist tug to move them inside the port. Later on we increased our fleet to a total of four barges and two tug boats. Our company name was changed to Harbor Bunkering Corporation in 2004.

Vancouver is well regarded by ship owners around the world as a highly efficient bunkering port. Fuel is available seven days a week without overtime or hidden extra charges. The vast majority of vessels are supplied concurrent with cargo operations saving the ship operator costly delays and shifting expenses.

Saga is based in Tønsberg, Norway, with additional offices in Vancouver (Canada), Savannah (U.S.A.), Tokyo (Japan), Antwerp (Belgium) and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Saga's own port captains and ships' officers supervise loading and discharging operations. Their extensive experience, combined with the services of quality oriented stevedores appointed by Saga, ensure professional handling of cargoes during loading and discharge.
