Maine Maritime Academy, a Maine public college founded in 1941, enrolls more than 800 students from more than 35 states and several foreign countries. Internationally respected for its uniformed Regiment of Midshipmen, a student-run leadership training model, the college offers traditional collegiate and uniformed lifestyle options for its students. Military service obligation is voluntary. The college awards A.S., B.S., and M.S. degrees. Fields of study include marine biology, marine science, international business and logistics, marine transportation operations, small vessel operations, marine engineering and technology, and power engineering technology.
Tromsø University College has about 3000 students and a staff of 350. It comprises four Faculties and a Central Administration, and is situated in four different locations on the island of Tromsø.
