Medical Nurse Case Management - where we receive notification of the injury claim within the first 24 hours and the nurse coordinates all the medical care advising our clients on the course of the medical portion of the claim. The benefits resulting in an earlier release to full duty or obtaining medical information early in the claim so that the employer or shipowner can be pre-warned if the injured party cannot go back to work or in the case of a passenger outlining and controlling reasonable rehabilitation costs. 2. On the back end of the claim there is Medical Bill Auditing, this is done by our Med-Check division, by nurses who review medical records, who search for CPT codes errors and look to alleviate any fraud or over exaggeration in medical billing. We audit all medical services of any kind in every state. The plaintiff attorneys in the U.S. along with a small portion of medical providers have been working together to escalate medical damages related to maritime accident claims. The Federal Jones Act and The Federal Long Shore Act does not limit liability awards on maritime claims and therefore it has become an arena for fraud and abuse. The Houston Pilots comprise 81 pilots, including two deputy pilots that are still in training. In selecting candidates to become deputy pilots, the Houston Pilots accept only experienced working mariners that have already been qualified and licensed by the Federal Government as First Class Pilots for Galveston Bar and the Houston Ship Channel and then trains them for three years before recommending them to the Pilot commissioners and the Governor for a full commission. The Houston Ship Channel is known as the most difficult pilotage in the world because of the very long and very narrow channel and the heavy load of traffic that it carries. The Houston Pilots, from the beginning, now, and in the future are totally committed to the safety on the Houston Ship Channel and service to the shipping industry. The Port of Houston Authority owns and operates the public facilities located along the Port of Houston, the 25-long complex of diversified public and private facilities designed for handling general cargo, containers, grain and other dry bulk materials, project and heavy lift cargo, and other types of cargo. Each year, more than 6,600 vessels call at the port, which ranks first in the U.S. in foreign waterborne tonnage, second in overall total tonnage, and sixth largest in the world. The Port Authority plays a vital role in ensuring navigational safety along the Houston Ship Channel, which has been instrumental in Houston's development as a center of international trade. The Barbours Cut Container Terminal and Central Maintenance Facility are the first of any U.S. port facilities to develop and implement an innovative Environmental Management System that meets the rigorous standards of ISO 14001. The National Industrial Transportation League was formed in 1907 to represent the interests of shippers before government regulatory agencies. With the advent of deregulation and globalization, however, the League has evolved into a broad-based advocacy organization for freight transportation. Earlier this year, the membership adopted Vision 2020, a sweeping proposal to change the structure of the organization. Now all companies involved in freight transportation are eligible for full, voting membership in the League. The roles of carriers, shippers and intermediaries are increasingly blurred and intertwined, so the League membership has been expanded to allow for more cooperative efforts, because through the promotion of a safe, efficient freight transportation industry, the needs of shippers, and the entire economy, are best met. It is anticipated that the new organization will become the forum where issues of mutual interest will be discussed and new creative solutions will be formed to benefit the entire U.S. economy.
