To maintain our high reliability record, each transport is thoroughly engineered and computer calculated to fully comply with ISO 9001 and ISM quality and safety standards. In addition to the preparation of each transport by our engineers, all loading and discharging operations are supervised by our experienced superintendents to ensure flawless performance of all procedures described in the transport manual. Experience has learned that consulting Dockwise engineers in a project's conceptual design phase, can be a key factor in substantially saving both fabrication and transportation costs. The seakeeping characteristics of our heavy transport vessels allow for reduction of structural reinforcements for transport-only purposes. Projects in which Dockwise consulting engineers were closely involved from the early design stage, include the transportation of the BP-Harding PDQ jack-up drilling rig, the Hibernia Mega Module Move, the transportation and launching of the ONGC/SHW jacket. These yacht carriers can load and discharge using the float-on/float-off method. After deck preparation -installation of keelblock cradles and supports to the deck of the yacht carrier- the vessel submerges into a 'floating marina' to a draft required for loading the yachts. When all yachts are moored in their reserved position the yacht carrier starts her dock operation. Once the deck is dry, the yachts are secured to the deck and are ready for a safe crossing. During transport, the yachts are safely stowed between the yacht carriers' spray-covers, protecting them from the elements.
