Magnavox Electric Systems Co. was the El Segundo, California defense and maritime electronics division of Magnavox, best known for Transit SATNAV satellite navigation receivers used by the U.S. Navy and commercial shipping. The business was absorbed via acquisitions by Philips and later Raytheon/Hughes and no longer operates as an independent maritime electronics manufacturer.
Synergy Systems, LLC, a California Limited Liability Company, was founded in 1985 as a regional manufacturers representative company to sell and service Motorola Mini-Ranger™ Radar Positioning products and Motorola’s Eagle™ series GPS products. The Company gained broad GPS experience supporting Motorola’s 4 and 8 channel Eagle survey grade GPS receivers, the LGT-1000 GPS/GIS products and, since 1992, Motorola’s full line of OEM board level GPS products.
In 1996, the Company transformed from a regional representative to a full service, stocking distributor and value added provider for Motorola’s GPS products. Sales and support services were expanded to cover the entire United States, Canada, Mexico and South America. The Company, now regarded as the leading supplier of Motorola ONCORE™ OEM GPS products in the Americas, has since expanded its services worldwide.
