The Port of Vancouver, USA, was established in 1912 with the purpose of preventing private monopoly of the Columbia River system. The district encompasses an area of 111 square miles with a population of almost 300,000. The Port is governed by three elected Commissioners who serve six-year terms and are responsible for setting the overall policy and goals for Port operations and development.
