Heidenreich Marine Inc. ("Heidmar") is a privately owned company that was founded on October 1, 1984. Heidmar, which was initially involved in the commercial operation of product tankers (30-40,000 dwt), has grown to become the world’s leading commercial operator of panamax tankers (55-70,000 dwt). It currently controls 38 panamax tankers, six product tankers and one aframax tanker. The panamax tankers are operated in a revenue sharing pool, Star Tankers Inc., which is comprised of eleven shipowners from the United States, Europe and the Far East. All eligible product tankers are operated in the Dorado Tankers Inc. revenue sharing pool.
