Welcome to The Marine Museum at Fall River where you will see one of the world's largest TITANIC exhibit. A 28 foot detailed model is the centerpiece in the collection of artifacts and memorabilia. The famous R. M. S. Titanic, so carefully designed to be called "unsinkable", on her maiden voyage took 1500 people with her to a watery grave on April 14, 1912. The museum's collection includes photographs taken by the Wood's Hole Oceanographic Institution, a recorded account of the tragedy by a Titanic survivor, and a video tape of the vessel's discovery. The Marine Museum's newest exhibit, The Andea Doria, is now open. This exhibit includes photographs, videos, artifacts and a model of the Italian liner which sank off the coast of Nantucket in the summer of 1956.

The Marine Technology Society was incorporated in June, 1963 to allow members of academia, government and industry to have a common forum for the exchange of information and ideas, and to "make real contributions in fostering progress in the marine sciences for the benefit of mankind". Early corporate members included General Dynamics, Raytheon and Oceanographic Engineering Corporation, among others. In its formative years, the Society developed its technical committees structure, a call for at least one annual conference, and peer-reviewed publications. Early Technological Committees included Underwater Photography, Marine Biology, Undersea Vehicles, Education and Careers in the Marine Sciences, Oceanographic Data and Information, Oceanographic Instrumentation, and Mineral Resources. Today, the Marine Technology Society boasts a membership of businesses, institutions, individual professionals, and students. The MTS Journal is published quarterly, and is considered among the most prestigious peer-reviewed journals in the marine technology and sciences community. The Society has four Technical Divisions, over twenty-five technical committees, and hosts several conferences yearly.
