Herbert S. Hiller founded the business in 1919 in New Orleans, Louisiana, to design and provide fire protection equipment for commercial and shipyard customers. Nearly 80 years later, the company has grown to nine operations, including facilities in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Massachusetts, Florida, Virginia and Alabama. The Hiller companies have taken the lead in the development, supply and service of fire and safety equipment. New products and services have been added to better serve our growing customer base. We now provide contracting and other services in six business segments: fire detection and alarm, fire suppression, specialty flooring, insulation, service and commodities. Director Torben F. Thorsen established Uni-Safe Electronics a/s in 1993, when the Marine Department of Dansk Radio (Terma Elektronik) was taken over. All the agencies held by Dansk Radio - such as C. Plath, Koden, Jotron and the Salinometer programme were also transferred to Uni-Safe Electronics. Uni-Safe Electronics has two main product lines: 1.
