The world's largest freighter aircraft lessor, Air Transport Services Group, has appointed a new president for its cargo aircraft leasing division.
In a move that underscores the growing importance of the air cargo sector, Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) has announced the appointment of a new president for its cargo aircraft leasing business.
According to FreightWaves, ATSG, which operates the world's largest fleet of leased freighter aircraft, has hired Rich Corrado as the new president of its Cargo Aircraft Management (CAM) division. Corrado brings over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry, having previously served as the chief operating officer of ATSG.
'Rich Corrado's deep experience in aviation and his proven leadership make him the ideal choice to lead CAM as it continues to grow its fleet and customer base,' said Joe Hete, president and CEO of ATSG. 'We are confident that under his direction, CAM will build on its position as the premier provider of medium and large freighter aircraft to the global air cargo industry.'
The appointment comes at a time when the air cargo sector is experiencing robust growth, driven by the continued expansion of e-commerce and the need for rapid delivery of goods. As the largest lessor of freighter aircraft, ATSG is well-positioned to capitalize on these market trends and expand its footprint in the industry.
'I am excited to take on this new role and lead CAM as it enters its next phase of growth,' said Corrado. 'ATSG has built an impressive platform in the cargo aircraft leasing space, and I look forward to working with the team to further strengthen our position and deliver even greater value to our customers.'
The move by ATSG underscores the strategic importance of the air cargo industry and the critical role that leasing companies play in supporting the global supply chain. As the maritime and logistics sectors continue to evolve, industry leaders will be closely watching developments in the air cargo space to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of the curve.
