Aker Solutions has landed a five-year contract with Aker BP for maintenance, modification and other services on key offshore assets in Norway.

Aker Solutions, a leading provider of engineering and construction services to the energy industry, has secured a major five-year contract with Aker BP for maintenance, modification and other services on key offshore assets off the coast of Norway. According to an announcement from Aker Solutions, the contract covers maintenance, modifications and operations support for several of Aker BP's offshore installations, including the Alvheim, Ivar Aasen, Skarv and Valhall fields. The contract has an estimated value of 5-7 billion Norwegian kroner (approximately $500-700 million USD) over the five-year term. 'This is an important contract for Aker Solutions, and we look forward to continuing our long-standing collaboration with Aker BP,' said Kjetel Digre, CEO of Aker Solutions. 'We have supported Aker BP and its predecessor companies for many years, and this contract extension demonstrates the trust they have in our capabilities to deliver safe and efficient operations.' The contract builds on Aker Solutions' existing relationship with Aker BP, one of Norway's largest independent oil and gas producers. Aker Solutions has provided maintenance and modification services for Aker BP's assets since 2017. 'Aker BP is a key client for us, and we are proud to have been entrusted with this contract,' added Digre. 'It reflects our strong track record in maintaining and modifying offshore installations safely and efficiently.' The new contract is an important win for Aker Solutions as it looks to capitalize on increased investment and activity in Norway's offshore energy sector. With oil and gas prices rebounding, producers are ramping up maintenance and upgrade work on existing assets to maximize production.
