By MGN Editorial•March 12, 2026 at 01:24 PM
The prestigious Asia's 50 Best Restaurants awards has expanded its list to include the top 100 restaurants in the region, showcasing the diverse culinary landscape.
The organizers of the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants awards, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, have announced the expansion of their annual list to include the top 100 restaurants in Asia. The expanded list, revealed ahead of the live awards ceremony in Hong Kong, provides a more comprehensive view of the region's thriving culinary scene.
According to the press release, the voting for the extended 51-100 list is conducted by the same 'Asia's 50 Best Restaurants Academy', a group of over 300 independent food writers, chefs, restaurateurs and regional experts. This expanded format allows the awards to shine a spotlight on a broader range of establishments, reflecting the depth and diversity of Asia's restaurant industry.
'The culinary landscape in Asia continues to evolve and grow in its sophistication,' said William Drew, Director of Content for Asia's 50 Best Restaurants. 'Expanding the list to 100 restaurants enables us to celebrate an even wider selection of the region's finest dining destinations and the talented chefs behind them.'
The move to a top 100 list aligns with similar expansions by other prestigious restaurant ranking systems, such as the World's 50 Best Restaurants, which added a 51-100 list in recent years. This reflects the increasing competitiveness and global recognition of Asia's dining scene, which has seen a proliferation of world-class restaurants in cities across the region.
The full Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2026 list, including the newly revealed 51-100 rankings, will be announced at the awards ceremony in Hong Kong later this year. The expanded format is expected to generate even greater interest and debate within the global culinary community.
