By MGN EditorialMarch 2, 2026 at 11:05 AM

Boa Offshore awarded contract to transport Ithaca Energy's decommissioned FSU Alba and floating production platform FPF-1 for dismantling and recycling.

In a move to support the offshore decommissioning industry, Norway's Boa Offshore has been awarded a contract by AF Offshore Decom to transport Ithaca Energy's decommissioned assets. The contract includes two float-on and load-in operations for Ithaca's FSU Alba and the floating production platform FPF-1. According to the report from Splash247, both units will be dismantled and recycled at AF Environmental Base Vat. The decommissioning of these assets is an important step in Ithaca's efforts to responsibly manage the end-of-life of its North Sea infrastructure. 'We are pleased to be awarded this contract by AF Offshore Decom and to support Ithaca Energy's decommissioning program,' said a spokesperson for Boa Offshore. 'Our specialized vessels and expertise in float-on/float-off operations will ensure the safe and efficient transportation of these large offshore units.' The decommissioning of aging North Sea oil and gas infrastructure is a growing focus area for the maritime industry. Companies like Boa Offshore that can provide specialized transportation and logistics services are playing a critical role in this process.
