Calumet Completes $150 Million Debt Offering

By MGN EditorialMarch 18, 2026 at 02:00 AM

Calumet, a major refiner and specialty chemicals producer, has completed a $150 million debt offering to bolster its balance sheet.

Calumet, Inc. (NASDAQ: CLMT), a leading refiner and specialty chemicals producer, has announced the completion of a $150 million offering of additional 9.75% senior notes due 2031. The offering was made through the company's wholly-owned subsidiaries, Calumet Specialty Products Partners, L.P. and Calumet Finance Corp. According to the press release, the net proceeds from the offering will be used for 'general corporate purposes,' which may include funding capital expenditures, repaying existing debt, and supporting the company's ongoing operations. The additional notes were issued under the same indenture as Calumet's existing $500 million 9.75% senior notes due 2031, which were originally issued in 2021. 'This debt offering further strengthens our balance sheet and provides additional financial flexibility as we continue to execute on our strategic initiatives,' said CEO Tim Go. 'We remain focused on driving operational excellence, growing our specialty products business, and creating long-term value for our shareholders.' The move comes as Calumet navigates a challenging market environment for refiners, with volatile crude oil prices and tight refining margins. The company has been working to transform its business by expanding its higher-margin specialty products segment, which includes lubricants, solvents, and other specialty chemicals. This debt raise will help support those efforts and provide a cushion against market volatility. Industry analysts view the debt offering as a positive step for Calumet, providing the company with more financial flexibility to execute its strategic plan. 'Calumet is taking prudent steps to shore up its balance sheet and position the company for long-term success,' said energy analyst Sarah Thompson of gCaptain.
