By MGN Editorial•February 5, 2026 at 04:54 PM
CATL chairman Robin Zeng discusses the future of sustainable energy technology at high-profile global events, highlighting the company's progress towards zero-carbon emissions.
In a keynote address at the World Summit of Nobel Laureates and World Government Summit in Dubai, CATL chairman Dr. Robin Zeng outlined the company's vision for the future of sustainable energy technology.
According to a press release from CATL, Zeng emphasized the importance of transitioning to a 'zero-carbon era' driven by advanced battery and energy storage solutions. 'The era of sustainable energy is upon us, and CATL is at the forefront of developing the technology to make zero-carbon emissions a reality,' Zeng stated.
CATL, one of the world's largest electric vehicle battery manufacturers, has been investing heavily in research and development to improve the energy density, safety, and cost-effectiveness of its battery products. The company recently unveiled its latest 'Qilin' battery cell, which it claims can achieve an industry-leading energy density of over 350 Wh/kg.
'The rapid growth of electric vehicles and industrial automation is driving strong demand for high-performance electric motor cores,' Zeng noted. 'CATL is committed to providing innovative solutions that support the transition to a sustainable, zero-emissions future across multiple industries.'
The Global Electric Motor Core Market is projected to reach $26.6 billion by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 7.2% from 2024, according to a recent report by Valuates. This growth is largely attributed to the increasing adoption of EVs as well as the expansion of industrial automation worldwide.
As the maritime industry continues to explore decarbonization strategies, technologies like those developed by CATL will play a crucial role in powering the transition to greener operations across shipping, ports, and related sectors.
