Private equity firm CD&R announces expansion of its climate leadership program to Europe through a partnership with Imperial College Business School.

Private equity firm CD&R has announced the expansion of its Climate Leadership Program to Europe through a new partnership with Imperial College Business School's Leonardo Centre for Business and Sustainability. According to a press release, the European expansion builds on the successful inaugural program launched with Columbia University in the United States. The program aims to develop the next generation of climate leaders by providing executive education, mentorship, and access to a global network of sustainability experts. 'We are thrilled to be partnering with Imperial College Business School to bring our Climate Leadership Program to Europe,' said CD&R Managing Partner Sarah Thompson. 'Developing climate-focused business leaders is critical to driving the transition to a net-zero economy, and we look forward to working with this prestigious institution to identify and empower the change-makers of tomorrow.' The program will provide participants with a comprehensive curriculum covering topics such as climate science, sustainable business models, climate policy, and climate finance. In addition to the educational component, the program will also facilitate networking and mentorship opportunities to support participants in applying their learnings. 'Tackling the climate crisis requires bold, innovative leadership across all sectors of the economy,' said Professor Ioannis Ioannou, Faculty Director of the Leonardo Centre. 'We are excited to collaborate with CD&R to equip a new cohort of business leaders with the knowledge and tools they need to drive meaningful climate action.' The announcement comes as businesses and investors face growing pressure to address their environmental impact and align their operations with global decarbonization goals. Initiatives like CD&R's Climate Leadership Program aim to cultivate the leadership needed to navigate this transition successfully.
