By MGN EditorialFebruary 6, 2026 at 05:22 PM

Chinese engineering firm CIMC SOE has received orders for three new LNG bunkering vessels, expanding its capabilities in the growing LNG fuel market.

In the latest sign of the growing demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a marine fuel, China-based engineering company Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (CIMC SOE) has received orders for three new LNG bunkering vessels. According to a report from Offshore Energy, the new orders will add to CIMC SOE's existing orderbook for LNG bunkering vessels. The company is a major player in the LNG bunkering segment, having previously delivered several vessels of this type. LNG bunkering is a critical component of the maritime industry's transition towards cleaner, lower-emission fuels. As shipping companies work to comply with stricter emissions regulations, the availability of LNG bunkering infrastructure is becoming increasingly important. CIMC SOE's new orders demonstrate the company's commitment to supporting this shift in the global maritime sector. 'The new LNG bunkering vessel orders highlight the ongoing investment and innovation happening in the LNG fuel space,' said the editor of a leading maritime industry publication. 'As the use of LNG as a marine fuel continues to grow, we can expect to see more activity from major players like CIMC SOE to build out the necessary infrastructure and capabilities.'
