Coleman Launches World's First Collapsible Hard Cooler

By MGN EditorialMarch 19, 2026 at 12:12 PM

Leading cooler brand Coleman introduces a new collapsible hard cooler design, aiming to improve portability and storage for maritime and outdoor applications.

In a move that could reshape the cooler market, the iconic American brand Coleman has unveiled what it claims is the world's first collapsible hard cooler. According to a report from Expert Consumers, the new 'Snap 'N Go' cooler features a unique design that allows the rigid walls to fold down, enabling more compact storage and transport. 'This could be a game-changer for boaters, fishermen, and anyone who needs to bring a cooler on the go,' said industry analyst Samantha Yates. 'Collapsible coolers have been around for a while, but achieving that functionality in a hard-sided model is an impressive engineering feat.' The report highlights several potential benefits of the new design, including: - Improved portability - The collapsed cooler is up to 50% smaller than a traditional hard cooler, making it easier to stow in a boat, RV, or the trunk of a car. - Space-saving storage - When not in use, the Snap 'N Go can be folded flat to take up minimal storage space. - Durability of hard-sided design - Unlike soft-sided collapsible coolers, the new Coleman model retains the ruggedness and insulation properties of a traditional hard cooler. 'This could be a real game-changer for the marine industry,' said gCaptain editor John Konrad. 'Fishermen and boaters are always looking for ways to maximize limited onboard storage, so a collapsible hard cooler that still provides the same level of cold retention is an innovative solution.' The Snap 'N Go cooler is expected to be available to consumers in early 2027, with an MSRP in the range of traditional high-end hard coolers. Industry observers will be watching closely to see if the new design gains traction and potentially disrupts the established cooler market.
