Greek pipe manufacturer Corinth Pipeworks has agreed to purchase a century-old large-diameter steel pipe facility in the UK, expanding its production capabilities.

Corinth Pipeworks, a subsidiary of Belgium's Cenergy Holdings, has entered into an agreement to acquire a 100-year-old large-diameter steel pipe (LSAW) manufacturing facility located in the United Kingdom. The facility, which has been in operation since the early 1900s, will bolster Corinth's existing pipe production capabilities and supply chain in the European market. According to the announcement, the acquisition will allow Corinth Pipeworks to 'significantly expand its LSAW pipe production capacity and product range' to meet growing demand for large-diameter steel pipes used in offshore energy, pipeline, and other industrial applications. The facility produces pipes up to 48 inches in diameter, complementing Corinth's existing focus on smaller-diameter LSAW and spiral-welded pipe products. 'This strategic acquisition represents an important milestone in Corinth Pipeworks' growth journey,' said Alexis Alexiou, CEO of Cenergy Holdings. 'It will enhance our competitive position in Europe and strengthen our ability to serve the evolving needs of our customers across the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.' The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, and is expected to be completed in the coming months. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition aligns with Corinth Pipeworks' broader strategy of expanding its manufacturing footprint and product portfolio to capitalize on rising demand for steel pipes, particularly in the offshore energy and renewables markets. It also demonstrates the company's commitment to the UK market, where it sees opportunities for growth in the years ahead.
