Huawei showcases its vision for upgrading industrial networks to boost productivity in smart factories.

At the MWC Barcelona 2026, Huawei hosted its Manufacturing and Enterprise Forum on the theme 'Intelligent Factory Upgrades Boost Digital Productivity'. The company released a new report titled 'Fully Connected Industrial Networks', which outlines its approach to modernizing the architecture of smart factories. According to the report, Huawei believes that fully connected industrial networks are key to enabling the digital transformation of manufacturing. The report highlights how 5G, industrial Ethernet, and other advanced connectivity technologies can help factories achieve real-time data transmission, centralized management, and end-to-end integration. 'As factories become more intelligent and automated, the need for reliable, high-bandwidth industrial networks has never been greater,' said Alain Nochimowski, Huawei's Vice President of Industrial Digitalization. 'Our new report provides a roadmap for manufacturers to upgrade their network infrastructure and unlock the full potential of smart factory technologies.' The report also showcases several Huawei customer case studies, demonstrating how its industrial networking solutions have improved production efficiency, reduced maintenance costs, and enhanced worker safety at manufacturing facilities around the world. This announcement comes as industrial automation and smart factory technologies continue to gain traction in the maritime industry. Ports, shipyards, and other maritime operators are increasingly adopting advanced sensors, robotics, and cloud-based analytics to optimize their operations and respond to evolving market demands.
