In-Situ Launches Automated Deployment Reporting Feature for Field Water Monitoring Operations

By MGN Editorial•October 8, 2026 at 06:00 PM

Ott | In-Situ has released a new Deployment Report feature within its VuSitu mobile app, automatically compiling instrument settings and field data into synced reports via the HydroVu platform.

Ott | In-Situ, a provider of water monitoring instrumentation and software, has announced the release of a new Deployment Report feature integrated into its VuSitu mobile application, according to a company statement issued October 8, 2026. The new functionality automatically compiles instrument configuration settings, site details, and field notes into a single, structured report at the point of deployment. Reports are synced instantly to In-Situ's cloud-based HydroVu data management platform, reducing the manual documentation burden on field technicians and improving data traceability across monitoring operations. While the announcement originates from the environmental instrumentation sector, the development carries relevance for maritime and coastal water quality monitoring programmes, where accurate, real-time field documentation is critical for regulatory compliance, environmental impact assessments, and port authority reporting requirements. Water quality sensors from manufacturers such as In-Situ are routinely deployed in harbour approaches, estuaries, and coastal zones to monitor parameters including dissolved oxygen, turbidity, conductivity, and temperature. The automation of deployment reporting addresses a longstanding challenge in field operations: the risk of incomplete or inconsistent manual records, particularly in remote or time-pressured environments. By generating standardised reports at the moment of instrument deployment and pushing them directly to a centralised cloud platform, the feature creates an auditable data trail that supports both operational efficiency and post-deployment analysis. For port environmental teams, offshore operators, and hydrographic survey contractors who rely on continuous water quality data, streamlined reporting tools of this kind can reduce administrative overhead and improve the speed at which monitoring data is made available to stakeholders. Fort Collins, Colorado-based Ott | In-Situ did not disclose pricing details for the updated VuSitu application in its announcement. The HydroVu platform integration is available to existing users of the VuSitu mobile app.
