MacGregor, a leading provider of cargo access solutions and deck machinery, has been selected to supply equipment for four new major vessels as part of BC Ferries' fleet renewal program.
In a significant development for the Canadian maritime industry, MacGregor has announced that it has been awarded a contract to supply cargo access solutions and deck machinery for four new major vessels being built for BC Ferries.
The contract, which was secured during the World Defense Show, is part of BC Ferries' historic fleet renewal plan. These next-generation vessels will feature MacGregor's advanced technologies to enhance the efficiency and safety of cargo operations.
'We are proud to be selected as a key partner in BC Ferries' fleet renewal initiative,' said Magnus Sjöberg, Senior Vice President of Merchant Solutions at MacGregor. 'Our cargo access solutions and deck machinery are designed to optimize vessel performance and provide a superior experience for both crew and passengers.'
The announcement comes as BC Ferries continues to modernize its fleet to meet the growing transportation needs of coastal communities in British Columbia. The new vessels will replace aging ferries and incorporate the latest advancements in maritime technology, helping to improve the reliability, sustainability, and passenger experience of the ferry service.
MacGregor's selection for this project underscores its reputation as a trusted supplier of innovative solutions for the global maritime industry. The company's expertise in cargo handling systems and deck machinery has made it a preferred partner for ferry operators, shipping lines, and naval forces around the world.
'This contract with BC Ferries is a testament to MacGregor's capabilities and our commitment to supporting the growth and modernization of the Canadian maritime sector,' added Sjöberg. 'We look forward to working closely with BC Ferries to deliver these state-of-the-art vessels that will serve the region for years to come.'
