By MGN EditorialFebruary 20, 2026 at 02:00 PM

The Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) partners with Indonesia's maritime academy to advance integrity awareness and skills among future maritime professionals.

The Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Pelayaran (STIP) Jakarta, formalizing a collaboration to strengthen integrity awareness and skills among future maritime professionals in Indonesia. According to the Hellenic Shipping News, the MoA was signed by Dr. Capt Tri Cahyadi, Principal of STIP Jakarta, and Cecilia Müller Torbrand, Executive Director of MACN. The partnership aims to integrate MACN's anti-corruption training and educational materials into STIP Jakarta's curriculum, ensuring that Indonesia's next generation of maritime leaders are equipped with the knowledge and tools to uphold ethical standards in the industry. "This partnership with STIP Jakarta is an important step in MACN's efforts to promote integrity and transparency in the maritime sector, particularly in Indonesia which is a key market," said Cecilia Müller Torbrand. "By working closely with academic institutions like STIP, we can reach future maritime professionals and empower them to be champions of change." The collaboration comes at a critical time as the maritime industry continues to grapple with corruption challenges globally. MACN's work in Indonesia aligns with the country's own initiatives to combat graft and strengthen governance across sectors. This partnership with STIP Jakarta represents a strategic investment in developing ethical leadership within Indonesia's maritime workforce.
