Micross Components has expanded its DC-DC converter portfolio with new 'Class H+' products designed for LEO constellations and new space missions.

Micross Components, a global provider of high-reliability microelectronic products, has announced the expansion of its DC-DC converter portfolio with the new 'Class H+' series. According to the company's press release, the new DC-DC converters are designed to meet the demanding requirements of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellations and other 'new space' missions. The H+ series builds on Micross' existing 'Class H' converters, offering enhanced screening and testing to ensure reliability in the harsh space environment. 'The new H+ converters provide our customers with an even higher level of assurance and confidence in the performance and longevity of their space systems,' said John Regan, President of Micross. 'As the new space economy continues to grow, reliable, high-performance power conversion solutions are critical to mission success.' The H+ series includes both isolated and non-isolated DC-DC converter modules in a range of power levels. Key features include: - Rigorous 'Class H+' screening and testing to military standards - Radiation-hardened components for enhanced resilience - Compact, lightweight design for space-constrained applications - Wide input voltage range and high efficiency - Extended temperature range operation This announcement comes as the small satellite and new space sectors continue to see rapid growth, with forecasts indicating the market for DC-DC converters and other power electronics in these applications will reach over $1 billion by 2028, according to a report by MarketsandMarkets. 'Reliable, high-performance power conversion is a critical enabler for the proliferation of LEO constellations and other emerging space missions,' said Joseph Benavides, VP of Space & Defense at Micross. 'The H+ series demonstrates our commitment to providing solutions that meet the evolving needs of the new space industry.'
