A roundup of recent maritime industry news, including Oregon's offshore wind plans, Teekay Tankers' VLCC sale, and MSC's new container service.

## Oregon Maps Four Offshore Wind Futures According to Splash247, the U.S. state of Oregon has unveiled a draft offshore wind roadmap outlining four potential futures for its deepwater west coast. The scenarios range from zero turbines to 3 GW of floating wind capacity. The roadmap, which is open for public input until April 3, was developed by the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD). The four futures outlined in the roadmap are: 1. **No Build**: No offshore wind development 2. **Modest Build**: 1 GW of offshore wind capacity 3. **Moderate Build**: 2 GW of offshore wind capacity 4. **Ambitious Build**: 3 GW of offshore wind capacity The roadmap is part of Oregon's efforts to assess the feasibility and impacts of offshore wind development along its coast, which features deep waters unsuitable for fixed-bottom turbines. Floating wind technology will be crucial to unlocking the state's offshore wind potential. ## Teekay Tankers Exits VLCC Segment In other news, Teekay Tankers has agreed to sell its only very large crude carrier (VLCC), according to Splash247. The 2013-built, 318,700 DWT Singapore Spirit will be offloaded, leaving the New York-listed owner focused solely on suezmax and aframax tonnage. 'The sale of our VLCC vessel is in line with our strategy to simplify our fleet and focus on the suezmax and aframax segments,' said Kenneth Hvid, Teekay Tankers' President and CEO. The move marks Teekay's exit from the VLCC segment as the company streamlines its operations. ## MSC Launches Lunar New Year Service Meanwhile, Seatrade Maritime reports that the world's largest container line, MSC, has launched a new service connecting China and Southeast Asia to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The 'Firehorse' service will link ports in China, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia. The new service is part of MSC's efforts to enhance its network and provide customers with more options during the peak Lunar New Year shipping season. The Firehorse service will complement MSC's existing offerings, providing shippers with additional capacity and flexibility as they navigate the busy holiday period.
