Redwood Logistics Expands Mexico Freight Platform with EELCO Acquisition

By MGN EditorialMarch 6, 2026 at 03:12 PM

Redwood Logistics has acquired Laredo-based customs broker EELCO to bolster its integrated freight solutions in the Mexico market.

Redwood Logistics, a leading supply chain solutions provider, has announced the acquisition of EELCO, a Laredo, Texas-based customs brokerage and freight forwarding company. The move is part of Redwood's strategy to expand its freight platform and integrated solutions offerings for customers moving goods between the United States and Mexico. According to FreightWaves, EELCO has been a trusted customs broker in the Laredo market for over 30 years, providing customs clearance, freight forwarding, and other logistics services. By integrating EELCO's capabilities, Redwood aims to offer its customers a more seamless cross-border freight experience, with enhanced visibility, compliance, and end-to-end supply chain management. 'This acquisition strengthens our Mexico freight platform and allows us to provide our customers with an even more robust set of integrated logistics solutions,' said Mark Yeager, CEO of Redwood Logistics. 'EELCO's deep expertise in customs brokerage and cross-border freight will be a valuable addition to our service offering.' The move comes as shippers and logistics providers seek to optimize their supply chains and find more integrated solutions to navigate the complexities of the U.S.-Mexico trade lane. With heightened focus on nearshoring, just-in-time inventory, and resilient supply chains, the acquisition positions Redwood as a stronger partner for companies moving freight across the southern border.
