Hanwha Ocean shipyard in South Korea held a naming ceremony for two new liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessels that will join the fleet of Poland's Orlen Group.

In a significant maritime industry development, South Korea's Hanwha Ocean shipyard recently hosted a naming ceremony for two new liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessels. The twin ships will join the fleet of Poland's Orlen Group, further expanding the company's LNG carrier capabilities. According to the *Offshore Energy* report, the ceremony took place in Geoje, where the vessels were constructed. The ships will now undergo final outfitting and testing before being delivered to Orlen Group, a leading integrated oil, gas, and petrochemical company in Central Europe. 'The addition of these two new LNG vessels to Orlen Group's fleet is an important milestone, as the company continues to invest in modern, efficient gas transport infrastructure,' said Hanwha Ocean's CEO, Kim Yong-bae. 'These ships incorporate the latest technologies to ensure safe, reliable, and environmentally-friendly LNG transportation.' The LNG carrier market has seen steady growth in recent years, driven by increasing global demand for cleaner energy sources. Shipyards like Hanwha Ocean play a crucial role in meeting this demand by delivering high-quality vessels to energy companies around the world. 'This naming ceremony is a proud moment for our shipyard and the entire Hanwha team,' added Kim. 'We look forward to seeing these vessels in service, supporting Orlen Group's energy operations.'
