A roundup of recent news from the maritime industry, including a Colorado waste management company's website and equipment rebrand, and leadership changes at American Electric Power.
## South Platte Services Rolls Out Rebrand Across Colorado Foothills
South Platte Services, a locally-owned waste and sanitation company based in Pine, Colorado, has launched a new website and begun deploying newly branded commercial dumpsters, portable restroom units, and service vehicles across the state's foothills region.
According to the company's press release, the rebrand is part of South Platte's efforts to 'strengthen relationships with key stakeholders' and modernize its image and service offerings. The updated branding features a new logo and color scheme applied across the company's fleet and equipment.
'This rebrand represents an exciting new chapter for South Platte Services as we continue to grow and serve our local communities,' said company CEO Jane Doe. 'Our focus remains on providing reliable, environmentally-responsible waste management solutions tailored to the unique needs of Colorado's mountain towns and rural areas.'
## AEP Announces Leadership Changes
American Electric Power (Nasdaq: AEP) has made two key leadership appointments, the company announced this week.
Brian Abraham has been named president and chief operating officer of Appalachian Power (APCo), AEP's utility serving customers in Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee. According to the press release, the move is intended to 'align with the company's strategy to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders across its service area.'
Additionally, Aaron Walker has been appointed to a new role in AEP's nuclear development organization. Walker will oversee the company's efforts to expand its nuclear generation capabilities as part of AEP's broader decarbonization strategy.
'These leadership changes reflect AEP's commitment to positioning the company for long-term success and supporting our transition to a clean energy future,' said AEP CEO Susan Jones.
The announcements come as AEP continues to invest heavily in grid modernization, renewable energy projects, and nuclear development across its multi-state service territory.
