The Subsea Integration Alliance, combining SLB OneSubsea and Subsea7, has secured a strategic long-term collaboration agreement with Petronas Suriname E&P to support offshore energy development in Suriname's growing production region.

# Subsea7 and OneSubsea Form Long-Term Partnership with Petronas for Suriname Offshore Development The Subsea Integration Alliance (SIA)—a joint venture between SLB OneSubsea and subsea services leader Subsea7—has announced a long-term collaboration agreement with Petronas Suriname E&P to support the operator's offshore development programs in Suriname. This partnership represents a significant commitment to Suriname's emerging offshore production sector, which has experienced rapid growth in recent years following major discoveries in the Stabroek Block. The collaboration leverages the combined expertise of two industry leaders in subsea engineering, installation, and field development solutions. Subsea7, a leading subsea services contractor, brings extensive experience in offshore construction and installation, while SLB OneSubsea provides advanced subsea production systems, digital solutions, and deepwater technology. The alliance model allows both companies to offer integrated solutions for Petronas Suriname's complex development requirements. Suriname has emerged as one of the world's fastest-growing offshore oil and gas regions. Petronas, Malaysia's national oil and gas company, is a major player in the country's offshore development, with significant production operations in the Stabroek Block—a prolific oil field operated by Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Limited (a subsidiary of ExxonMobil) with Petronas and Hess Corporation as partners. The long-term nature of this collaboration suggests Petronas Suriname E&P expects sustained activity and multiple development phases over an extended period. Such agreements typically cover front-end engineering and design (FEED), procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, and ongoing field support services. "This partnership underscores the importance of strategic alliances in delivering complex offshore projects efficiently," the companies noted in their announcement, emphasizing the integrated approach enabled by the SIA framework. For the broader maritime and offshore industry, this agreement signals continued confidence in Suriname's offshore sector despite global energy transition discussions. It also demonstrates the continued demand for specialized subsea services and deepwater technologies, even as the industry navigates evolving energy markets. The collaboration is expected to support local content and workforce development initiatives aligned with Petronas Suriname's commitments to the Guyanese regulatory framework and broader regional development goals. Both Subsea7 and OneSubsea maintain significant operational capabilities in the South American region and bring proven track records in complex offshore developments in similar water depths and geological conditions.
