Sungrow and Delta Capacity sign a 1 GWh battery energy storage framework agreement, deepening their partnership in the renewable energy storage sector.

Sungrow, a global leader in PV inverters and energy storage systems, and Delta Capacity, a developer and long-term owner of utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS), have announced a significant expansion of their partnership. According to a press release, the two companies have signed a framework agreement for 1 GWh of BESS capacity. This deal was announced at the Energy Storage Summit in Munich, Germany. 'This expanded partnership with Delta Capacity is an important milestone for Sungrow as we continue to grow our energy storage business globally,' said Cao Renxian, Chairman of Sungrow. 'Delta Capacity's expertise in developing and operating large-scale BESS projects makes them an ideal partner as we work to deliver more renewable energy storage solutions worldwide.' The agreement builds on the companies' existing collaboration, which has seen Sungrow supply its market-leading energy storage systems for several of Delta Capacity's projects. This new 1 GWh framework will support the continued deployment of Sungrow's technology as Delta Capacity expands its portfolio of utility-scale battery storage facilities. 'Sungrow's reliable and high-performance energy storage solutions have been a key part of our success in this fast-growing market,' said James Liang, CEO of Delta Capacity. 'We're thrilled to deepen our partnership and work together to accelerate the global energy transition through more renewable energy storage capacity.' The announcement comes as the maritime industry continues to explore ways to decarbonize operations and supply chains. Battery energy storage systems play a crucial role in enabling greater integration of renewable power sources like offshore wind, which are seen as key to reducing emissions from shipping and port activities.
