Vaalco Energy Restores Production at Côte d'Ivoire Offshore Field Following FPSO Overhaul

Houston-based Vaalco Energy has resumed production at its offshore Côte d'Ivoire asset after completing a refurbishment programme to extend the operational lifespan of the field's FPSO vessel.

## Vaalco Energy Restores Production at Côte d'Ivoire Offshore Field Following FPSO Overhaul Houston-based independent energy company Vaalco Energy has brought its offshore Côte d'Ivoire field back into production following the successful completion of a refurbishment programme on the floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel stationed at the asset, according to Offshore Energy. The overhaul, designed to extend the working lifespan of the FPSO, had temporarily halted output at the West African field. With the vessel now returned to operational status, production has resumed at the site. FPSO refurbishments of this nature are a common but operationally significant undertaking in the offshore sector. Ageing FPSO units require periodic dry-docking or in-situ maintenance campaigns to address hull integrity, topside processing equipment, and mooring systems — work that, while disruptive to near-term production, is essential to sustaining long-term field economics and ensuring regulatory compliance. For Vaalco Energy, the Côte d'Ivoire asset represents part of the company's broader African upstream portfolio. The restoration of production is expected to contribute positively to the company's output figures and cash flow in the coming quarters. West Africa continues to be a focal point for FPSO deployments, with the region hosting a significant share of the global floating production fleet. The successful return to service of this unit underscores the ongoing importance of proactive asset management strategies for operators working in mature offshore environments. *Source: Offshore Energy*
