Vallourec Partners with Syngular Solutions on Bioenergy CCS Projects in Brazil
By MGN Editorial•May 27, 2026 at 12:00 PM
French tubular solutions provider Vallourec has entered into a strategic agreement with Brazilian engineering and consulting firm Syngular Solutions to advance bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) projects in Brazil.
## Vallourec Partners with Syngular Solutions on Bioenergy CCS Projects in Brazil
French tubular solutions provider Vallourec has signed a deal with Syngular Solutions, a Brazilian engineering and consulting company specialising in carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies, to collaborate on bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) projects in Brazil, according to Offshore Energy.
The partnership brings together Vallourec's expertise in high-performance tubular products — widely used in oil and gas well construction and increasingly in CCS injection infrastructure — with Syngular's specialist knowledge of the Brazilian energy landscape and CCS project development.
BECCS is considered a critical negative-emissions technology in global decarbonisation strategies. By combining biomass energy generation with carbon capture, the process can theoretically remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere while simultaneously producing energy — a combination that has attracted growing interest from both governments and private investors seeking to meet net-zero targets.
Brazil represents a particularly significant market for BECCS development, given its extensive sugarcane ethanol industry, which generates large volumes of biogenic CO2 that are well-suited to capture and permanent geological storage. The country has been positioning itself as a leading destination for CCS investment in Latin America, supported by a growing regulatory framework and substantial geological storage potential in its sedimentary basins.
For Vallourec, the agreement signals a continued strategic pivot toward the energy transition sector. The company's tubular products play an essential role in the construction of CO2 injection wells, and partnerships of this nature allow it to embed itself early in the project development pipeline.
The deal reflects a broader trend of European industrial firms deepening ties with South American partners to capitalise on the region's emerging low-carbon energy infrastructure opportunities. As carbon markets mature and CCS project economics improve, collaborations combining European technology providers with local engineering expertise are expected to become increasingly common across the sector.
Further details regarding the scope, timeline, and financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed at the time of reporting.
