Valmet to provide advanced process analytical solutions to support Dow's net-zero emissions goals for its ethylene cracking operations.

Valmet Oyj, a leading provider of process technologies, automation, and services for the pulp, paper, and energy industries, has received orders from Dow – a global materials science leader – to supply turnkey process analytical solutions for Dow's Path2Zero project at its Fort Saskatchewan site in Canada. According to Valmet's press release, the Path2Zero project aims to support Dow's net-zero emissions goals for its ethylene cracking operations. Valmet's advanced process analytical solutions will play a critical role in monitoring and optimizing the ethylene cracking process to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. 'We are proud to be part of Dow's Path2Zero project, supporting their ambitious sustainability goals,' said Sami Riekkola, Business Line President, Automation, Valmet. 'Our process analytics solutions will provide Dow with real-time insights to drive operational efficiency and emissions reductions in their ethylene production.' The Valmet solutions will include a range of analytical instruments and software to measure and control key process parameters, enabling Dow to identify optimization opportunities and validate the emissions reduction targets of the Path2Zero initiative. This partnership between Valmet and Dow underscores the maritime industry's growing focus on environmental sustainability and the role that advanced process technologies can play in helping energy-intensive industries like petrochemicals achieve their decarbonization goals.
